之前發現一首christmas song，是Mark Lowry寫於1984年，Buddy Greene於六年後譜曲。
據稱現已成為新世代的聖誕歌曲，還蠻多人翻唱的，看了幾個版本，比較喜歡原作曲作詞者 &  Kathy Mattea 鄉村福音女歌手的版本。
年輕世代的有23歲的加拿大小帥哥Kalan Porter版本，還有30歲美國Clay Aiken，這首歌果然老中青皆宜。
曲調有點悲傷但也盼望著。很喜歡裡面一句歌詞：And when you kiss your little boy, You've kissed the face of god
(當妳親吻著嬰孩時，妳已親吻著上帝的面。)

Wiki不多的資料顯示 Mark Lowry 在寫這首歌時，對於mary的心情有很多問題，就想到之前討論聖誕節音樂劇的主題時，mary的角度也曾是議題之一說。
話說，要了解作詞者創作這首歌的動機，還有聽者的想法，基督教徒與天主教徒的觀點，必須到很高級的英文網頁瀏覽，不才小女英文實在是不夠好，看沒幾頁就昏昏欲睡，還不知道有沒有解讀錯誤，雖然這好像不是做研究的態度，但就旋律歸旋律吧。
